My mum’s just come home after major hip surgery, and she’s really struggling with basic stuff like moving around the kitchen or even getting dressed. I’ve been doing everything, but it’s taking a toll on both of us. You once mentioned your uncle had OT sessions at home through NDIS. Did it actually help with recovery? We’re desperate for something more hands-on than a few clinic tips.

I've noticed the biggest progress comes when the therapy adapts to someone's actual lifestyle. My neighbour had a stroke and was completely overwhelmed until an OT started working with her at home. No stress, no travel—just support where she needed it most. They helped her build skills back bit by bit, in her own kitchen and bedroom. Honestly, clinic sessions never got her that far.
Totally helped. The mobile occupational therapist gold coast came to us and did a full home assessment—checked out the stairs, furniture, even the layout of the bathroom. They made a rehab plan just for his needs and showed him safe ways to do everyday things. They also recommended a few small modifications that made a huge difference. Definitely more useful than anything we got in hospital.
